We are delighted to share the second annual release of The Approach Pinot Noir.
Offered exclusively in magnum format, The Approach Pinot Noir is a selection of our top four barrels of Pinot Noir from the vintage.
Our name for this release is derived from the aeronautical term for landing. This wine demonstrates how we intend to land the vision quest for DK Grail.
Unconstrained by geographic limits, the 2021 blend draws from all three of the finest Pinot Noir appellations in California: Russian River Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands, and West Sonoma Coast. Pristine fruit from our longtime friends at Garys’ Vineyard, Campbell Ranch, Umino, and Gantz vineyards come together to create the elegant profile of this wine, which is aged 15 months in French Oak barrels. This release is multidimensional, with age-worthy tannins and balanced acidity leading to a complete, satisfying finish.
